It all began on one summer day when I was 19 and in my last year of school.

Back then I had a best buddy named Tom, who went to school with me and was of my age, and who had a brother, Dennis, who was 17 years old. Tom really was a good guy and we came along together pretty well, but I could not stand his brother and often asked myself how brothers can be so different. Tom was a nice, gentle guy who was friendly to everybody he knew, Dennis a selfish, arrogant prick that liked picking on people for no good reason and, having his looks and knowing it, popular with the girls, who seemed to find his toughness attractive. Often Tom would stand up for people Dennis was picking on, and they would have quarrels. When I saw this, I always thought Dennis was an idiot, that needed to be thought a lesson.

One day after school when Tom was sick, his brother waited for me in front of the school gate. 'Hey Steve', he said. I kind of didn't like the idea, that he wanted to talk to me and didn't stop my walk, while saying 'Sorry Dennis, no time. A friend of my is gonna visit me at my place in a few minutes.', but he followed me and said 'That's no problem, I'm not gonna stay at your place for long.'. As I looked at him a little puzzled he kind of grinned and explained 'You know my brother is sick, and he asked me to go over to your place and borrow a book of yours for a homework he has to write.'. 'Which one?' I asked. 'That one about great Britain and world war two.' 'OK, come with me, I'll give it to you' I said, as I knew Tom wrote a paper on Winston Churchill and I had at least two books that partly covered this topic.

On the ten minutes walk to my parents house we didn't talk a word. I kind of felt uncomfortable having this bully, who I despised with all my senses at my home, and I knew exactly that he also despised me, because I wasn't a mindless self-centered idiot like himself. That I just lied to him about a friend coming for a visit, and the fact that my parents weren't at home didn't help to make me feel better either, but not helping Tom was not an option.

As he walked next to me, I could not help but recognize the shape of his body. He did not have like weight-lifter muscles, but was of average height just like me, maybe 1.80, slim and athletic with well defined muscles on arms and legs and, as far as I could see from a glimpse, on his chest too. Tanned skin, short, brown hair and dark eyes. I could understand why he the girls liked his appearance. As it was a hot summer day, he was barefoot and wearing flip-flops, and I realized that he hobbled a little bit while walking.

'OK, here we are. Wait a second, I'll go upstairs and look for the book.' I said. I figured, that letting him wait outside was the first step for getting rid of him as quickly as possible, but he made clear that it wouldn't work out. 'Aaw man, can't you let me in for just a second? I hurt my ankle yesterday playing basketball and it would be great to sit down for a second.' I was annoyed by his forwardness, but simply saying 'No.' wasn't an option I seriously considered. 'OK. Sit down in the living room, I'll be right back.' I said, closed the door behind him and went to my room. I looked for the two books I wanted to give him, found them and left my room again. 'Now get him out of here as quickly as possible...' I thought, and realized that this scenario really made me feel uneasy.

As I entered the living room, Dennis was sitting on the couch, his flip-flopped feet on the table and a glass of cola in his hand. I must have looked pretty stupid, as I stared at him, the books in my hand. 'Sorry man, but my ankle hurts so bad I just had to ease the pressure on it a little. And as I got thirsty, I thought it would surely be no problem if I went to the fridge and got me a drink. You know, it's awfully hot in here. Don't you guys have an air conditioning, Steve?' he said, leaned his upper body forward in my direction and grinned.

As I could see now, he really must have sweated a lot, for his back left a wet patch on the couch. I was totally startled by his arrogance, and the boldness with which he simply invaded my home, got himself a drink and left his sweat on my furniture with absolute casualness. 'You... My name is Steve, not Steve! And you get up now, finish your drink, take the books and get out of here, now!' I said, trying to sound assertive and self-assured, but my words sounded weak, even in my ears.

Dennis just leaned back, confidently looking at me and said 'Relax, man. I can't go home with pain in my ankle. I could slip and break my leg, and we don't want that, do we? Because than I would feel bad, my brother wouldn't get his books and write a bad paper which would make him feel bad too. And all of this because you had a little temper you could not control. That's very impolite, you know?' With this he took the TV remote and started zapping through the channels, while I stood there like an idiot, desperately looking for strong words. 'This can't be true!' I thought. 'He has no right to be here at all and he is two years younger than you! Now find your balls, and make him leave!!', so I took all my confidence, walked over and threw the books in his lap. 'Get up. My buddy will be coming every second, and when he is here I don't want him to come in and see you sitting here with your stinking feet on the table. So get out the f**k now!' I yelled, nearly losing control over my voice, but Dennis didn't seem to be too impressed. He turned his head towards me and looked me straight in the eyes. 'Listen, little buddy. I am exhausted, and I need a few minutes of rest, and you bitch and scream at me like a stupid brat wanting his candy. I am not going to leave right now just because you burst in tears otherwise, so you better SHUT UP now and treat me with proper respect!' I could not believe what was happening and I could not believe that I didn't find the right words to set some limits. I shifted my gaze downwards, feeling helpless and shocked by the severe tongue-lashing I just received from this younger boy.

'Hahahaha, that's the right place to look at. Why don't you just sit down on the floor next to the couch, Steve?' he chuckled. 'My name is not St...' I said, but he cut me off 'Oh, maybe you can get me a drink before you make yourself comfortable. Remember my friend, the quicker I am refreshed, the quicker I am going to leave again.' I was close to panicking now. The way he called me MY friend, made me feel horrible, as if he did not want to express that I was his friend, but that I BELONGED to him now... Feeling numb all over I went to the fridge and got Dennis a coke. 'Good.' he said. 'Now do me another favour, will you. My feet need more fresh air, and I don't want to move right now. Get next to the table and take my flip-flops of.'

I still was shocked by the strangeness of the situation. I knew if I did this, I would give in to him completely and lose the last rest of control I had. 'No.' I said weakly. 'What was that?' he replied and looked at me, and my courage sank. 'I..I...you really should leave now. I have work to do and...' 'Now stop whining around, and loosen my shoes, you little fucker. You owe me to do this, after all you have treated me very impolitely and have to make some amends, don't you think?' In a last, desperate effort I tried to break his control over the situation. 'I am not going to touch your stinking feet. And now you are going to leave!' With this I grabbed his right arm. He looked at me and met my gaze. 'Be careful, little buddy. I have let go your impotencies until now, but if you go on like this, I will have to teach you a lesson in respect that you are never going to forget.'

I was frightened by his words, but did not want to give up so easily. I held on to his arm and tried to pull him off the couch, and felt his upper arm muscles grow and become hard as he resisted without any effort. 'Better think about this real good, you're starting to upset me, stupid boy. But I will let it go if you give me a convincing apology, little buddy.' While saying this he moved his feet and kicked his flip-flops off, so that they flew through the living room, all the while looking straight into my eyes. 'Aaaaah yes, that feels so much better. See? I didn't even need you to get rid of my shoes. So maybe I don't have any use for you after all?'

As he said this I lost it.

I pulled his arm with all the power I had and tried to grab his hair with my left, screaming 'Now you're going to...'. I didn't get any further. All of a sudden he was on his feet, easily shook my hand of by making a quick circle with the arm I was holding on and rammed the palm of his hand against the middle of my upper body. 'That bastard tricked me! His ankle is all right!' I thought, as I stumbled backwards fighting to catch my breath. 'What, huh? What are you going to do to me now, little buddy? Hahaha...' With this he stepped forward and delivered a roundhouse kick to my face in one elegant, fluent movement. He was so quick that I didn't see it coming. All I felt was a sudden burst of smelly, vinegary air before the sweaty ball of his foot connected with my cheekbone and sent me tripping to the side. The pain was terrible and I swept up my arms in shock to protect my face from the next attack.

Dennis showed no mercy and fired a straight kick right into my unprotected stomach which pressed all the air out of my body and I doubled over in pain, letting a weak, pitiful 'Ooooooooohhh...' come over my lips. I wanted to signal him that it was over, that I was finished and he won, that he should please stop kicking me, but I couldn't speak or move the slightest muscle. I was done, and we both knew it. As I stood there, bent over trying to fight the urge just to fall down to the ground I was on eye-level with his shorts. Without a hurry my superior opponent led his left hand between his legs and scratched his balls, before he put it under my chin and forced my head upwards to look into his eyes. I wanted to avoid his gaze, but I just couldn't. His beautiful dark eyes locked with mine as he put a confident smirk on his face and raised his right fist. He held it there for a moment, as I prepared for the pain that was coming for me.

The message was clear. 'You tried to fight me, and therefore you deserve punishment. I'm going to finish you now, and there is nothing you can do to stop me, weakling.' He let it sink in a little, enjoying the power he had over me. Than his fist flew in my direction and painfully connected with my chin. My vision blurred as I dropped to my knees and then fell over on the ground in a barely conscious, zombie-like state, looking pathetic with my eyes and mouth wide open, absolutely unable to move. All I perceived was Dennis chuckling above me and one of his feet in the sight of my vision, standing next to my head. 'Haha, that was fun, don't you think?' I felt like crying. I wanted to sink into the ground and stay there forever. 'I'm going to get myself another drink. You stay right where you are, I'm not done with you yet, loser.'

With this he walked away, leaving me alone with my humiliation.
